Welcome
Welcome to From the Vine, a blog that started out about wine, but I am finding more and more it is about a life that I have been given to live, so I would have to say this blog is about stewardship. First of all, let me introduce myself. My name is Scott Richards and I am a writer living near Bowling Green, VA just outside of a spot in the road known as Sparta in Caroline County. I have a wonderful wife whom I call Diane, 3 grown and married children, a beautiful grand daughter whom everyone calls Eliza and a long haired Jack Russell.
My love for wine goes way back, when all I knew was red wine with red meat and white wine with white meat. Fortunately for all of us, those days are long gone. Diane and I moved into a new house in Sparta, Virginia where we finished planting the first phase of our vineyard the week before Easter of 2011. If anyone wants to come by and lend a hand or just take a tour, you are more than welcome to do so.
I have an undergraduate degree in theology and love to discuss such matters. I attend with my wife, Diane, Salem Baptist Church in Sparta, where all are welcome. Diane and I have been involved in lay ministry for over 35 years.
